Mr Sica stands accused of murdering his former girlfriend, 24-year-old Neelma Singh and her younger siblings, Kunal, 18, and 12-year-old Sidhi, at their Bridgeman Downs home in April 2003.

After the longest criminal trial in Queensland Supreme Court history, the jurors began deliberations just after 10am on Wednesday.

Given the length of the trial, the eight men and four women jurors were not required on Fridays, a schedule which has continued since they retired.

Justice John Byrnes’ summing-up address took more than two days.

In deciding whether the prosecution proved their case against Mr Sica, the jury must consider all the evidence which had been presented to them during the 76-day trial, including testimony from 100 witnesses.
