A 28-year-old man was driving a Skyline Coupe in San Remo about 9.30pm last night.

Police spokeswoman Ros Weatherall said it would be alleged that, while carrying out burn outs, the man lost control of the car and hit a fence in Orestes Street, causing extensive damage.

“He then reversed the car into a power pole, before leaving the scene,” she said.

Police attended and followed oil leaks from the car to a nearby address, where they found the vehicle hidden in the backyard.

The man was charged with reckless driving, failing to give a name and address and failure to stop. His car was seized for 28 days.

He will appear before the Mandurah Magistrates Court on July 13.
